  • Layers: 1) Clear wear, 2) Color/Pattern Film, 3) Vinyl Core, 4) Backing

  • Easy to Maintain

  • Recommendation of vinyl planks with a wear layer of 12 mil+; for higher traffic areas, consider 20 mil+

  • Plank thickness: lower quality planks will measure in the 4mm range and higher quality planks will measure in the 8mm+ range

  • LVP cores are water resistant and hide minor imperfections in the subflooring, which is great when installing over your existing floor

Laminate

  • Layers: 1) Wear, 2) Design, 3) Inner Core, 4) Backing

  • Low flammability

  • Recommendation of 10mm or thicker laminate

Engineered Hardwood

  • Beauty of natural wood with greater moisture resistance

  • Layers: Top - solid hardwood, Mid - laminated wood in crisscross pattern, Bottom - underlay

  • Crisscross layers expand and contract in opposite directions, keeping the floor stable and resistant to excessive expansion/contraction

  • Top wood layer thickness - 0.5-6mm (our recommendation is 3mm+)

  • Standard total thickness - 14-15mm

  • Most engineered floors can be refinished with varnish 1-3 times, depending on the thickness of the top layer

Luxury Vinyl Tile

  • Design layer can look exactly like real stone or ceramic while costing less

  • Layers: 1) wear, 2) image/design, 3) resilient core, 4) backing/underpad

  • Most products are 100% waterproof

  • No need to maintain grout lines

  • Warmer feel and softer underfoot compared to ceramic tile
